A drinks bottle is a drinks bottle, right? Wrong! Thermos are very well known for their drinks storage products and the Thermos Hydro Active sports bottle is a product that will solve problems you never thought you had! Priced at around the £6 mark you may be wondering what you are actually getting with this product compared to a basic plastic bottle you might have lying around the house. Well, the Thermos Hydro Active sports bottle has a refillable ice tube. What this means is that you simply fill the ice tube with water and freeze it, then when you put your drink into the bottle and screw the lid on you will be able to drink a cool and refreshing drink for hours. The bottle itself is made out of a very robust polycarbonate which is almost indestructable (well, within reason!).

The bottle holds one litre of liquid and is available online in almost any colour imaginable. My bottle is a charcoal grey colour, but there are lots of brightly coloured bottles available too. The lid pops off easily and has a very tight seal which is essential for sports use. The bottle itself is odour free. This might seem a little odd to mention, but you don't have to worry about that awful rubbery or plasticy smell when you take it out of your kitbag or drink from it. The body of the bottle is also very well designed, shaped to fit into your hand comfortably. As the bottle is dishwasher safe this also allows you to clean it without the hassle of running it under the tap to remove stubborn marks. This is unlikely to occur anyway as the bottle is stain free.

The 1 litre capacity is an ideal size and suffices for my needs. The bottles are available in 450ml and 700ml sizes also, but I recommend the 1 litre size as I have no experience of the other sizes. Personally I really do enjoy using this product. With the warmer days becomign more frequent at this time of year the ice tube is a handy feature and overall that £6 begins to look like money well spent.
