Total Gym: not enough resistance (Total Gym 1000)
Member Name: Thepanda
Advantages: Foldsaway, multiple exercises, good value Disadvantages: Not enough resistance, will easily be outgrown, incorrect angle of resistance I own a Total Gym, but like Two-dog, I think that it doesn't give enough resistance. I like the concept of the Total Gym, because although the machine is considered heavy, it's a whole lot lighter than a multigym with a 50kg weight, which might have a total weight of over 100kg. Whilst searching the web I found the bodyrail (www.bodyrail.co.uk), which is a similar to the Total Gym but it is a much more serious machine. You can use 89% of your bodyweight, do 100 exercises, add weights, etc. Unlike the total gym, you can alter the height and the width of the resistance, so it's just like using free weights but with the safety of a machine. Both my husband and myself love ours and we seriously recommend anyone to consider it. Summary: If you like high reps then it's okay but if you take exercise seriously, go for the bodyrail |
