The problem with so many fitness products these days are that they try to replicate the benefits of what results you can get with free weights and a bench. The Total Gym 1000 is no exception. Based around a board that moves against pulleys, cables and you as resistance and you can immediately see the flaws of such a machine. I brought ... Read the complete review

I bought this gym after seeing the commercials for it on tv. I thought I would give it a try and they had a 30 day free trial so I was like what the heck and got it. After it arrived here I was amazed to see that if was very easy to put up. There was no assembly required at all. I read the brochure on it just to try and figure out where I needed ... I own a Total Gym, but like Two-dog, I think that it doesn't give enough resistance. I like the concept of the Total Gym, because although the machine is considered heavy, it's a whole lot lighter than a multigym with a 50kg weight, which might have a total weight of over 100kg. Whilst searching the web I found the bodyrail (www.bodyrail.co.uk), ... Read the complete review

The total gym is ideal for anyone who his fed of them little flabby bits which are stubborn to get rid off. This cost £100 from Argos and as because of its size I decided to have it delivered, which I am surprised to say didn’t cost me a penny. I really love my new total gym. I am not a fitness person. I would really prefer to sit on my ... Read the complete review

Not as good as you may think - Advantages: Ease of use, Good for aerobic health, Well built - Disadvantages: Too little resistance. A 175 lb. person only has half of half his weight when using the cables(43 lbs. at the highest setting), False sense of strength gained. when you have maxed out on this unit, go to a Gym and see how much strength you have actually gained, you will not be impressed., Nowhere near as good as the weight bench and weights that you can buy for the same price or even less.

Look out Arnold S, Sylvester S, and Jean Claude VD. Because Gill has bought herself a total gym. It cost me £199 quid from TV shopping. (you can pay in instalments) I had better lose half that I pounds or I’m sending the bugger back. I have gone flabby and floppy over the last few months due to lack of proper exercise. I ... I have owned the Total Gym 1000, for about a year now. The reason why, is because i was channel shopping, and it looked good. It cought my eye, so i watched the programme, and then decided, that for £150, you couldn't go wrong. You can do all sorts of exercises on it, so why bother paying to go to a gym, and use lots of machines, when ... Read the complete review

Would you like to look like Christie Brinkley? Do you know who Christie Brinkley is? No, neither do I. I think she used to be married to someone famous. She looks quite good though, and she advertises the Total Gym, along with someone else I hadn’t heard of before, Chuck Norris. Now my husband sat up and took notice when he saw Chuck Norris. ... I have broken the habit of a lifetime - well two actually. Firstly, I bought something from a Sky shopping channel, something of an experience in itself and eventually subject to a further opinion (you can buy this online at www.tv-shop.co.uk). Secondly, I decided to exercise my way to better health. I chose the Total Gym 1000, not ... Read the complete review
