I made the decision two years ago to ditch my £10 trolley in favour of this and haven’t looked back since. It is good for you and undoubtedly makes you fitter, walking four miles is certainly an achievement, but walking four miles having carried a bag the whole way is something to be positively proud of. It will make you enjoy you round more if nothing else. Also the variety of bags available nowadays i...more

Premium Review Trolleys: CARRY DON'T PULL (334 words)
by - written on 25/01/01 (Very useful, 63 readings)
Rating:

I’m sorry to say it, but as much as I trust ‘kenjohn’ I’m afraid I don’t agree with his opinion here, albeit it a Crown Rating as well. Golf trolleys in my opinion are a nuisance and are usually disallowed on the golf course half of the time anyway, due to the bad weather conditions and their tendency to wreck the fairways with unattractive tyre marks. It is possibly fair to say that they make ease of a golf round, but at the end of the day if you’ve just walked four or so miles, you still going to be tired whether you’ve pulled a trolley or not. The other option of carrying your bag is the way to go. ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Save Those Tired Legs  (1277 words)

“HISTORY” OF THE CADDY-CART ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ ~ As a young fellow starting out in the sport of golf, my clubs stood in a small shoulder bag in the front porch, ready to be grabbed at a moments notice at the chance of a game, or in the school holidays, as soon as I had eaten breakfast and could get out on the golf course. Even today, some forty years later, things are not so different. My bag is still in the hall cupboard ready for instant use, but nowadays it is a little larger and more bulky than the “pencil” bag of my youth. ~ ~ Golf has come a long way since those halcyon days of the 1960’s, when all ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Trolleys: A bad design. (136 words)
by - written on 04/09/00 (Useful, 53 readings)
Rating:

Why is it that trolleys are so badly designed on the golf course? My golf bag will not stay on my trolley when Im travelling the course, despite holding it on with about 3 straps. I put this down to design of the trolley rather than anything else. The wheels are flat without grip and mde from solid plastic. Maybe if they were treaded tyres and pneumatic, they would absorb shock and cause less vibration to the bag. Hence, it might stay on the trolley. The holder for the bags are all one size. If you have a smaller bag, it can move around and fall off. There needs to be an adjustable holder on all trolleys. Perhaps an elasticated restraint would be good. An addition ...  Read the complete review
