Intro
-----
Over my established career as a sunday league footballer, i have used a variety of different boots, including those made by Umbro. They are a very recgonisable brand and especially with the sponsering of the england football side, you would expect the boots to be of a high standard.
However, unfortunately in my general experience this is not always the case.
The boots
------------
I cant remember what the exact models i have had are called but i do know that i have never been particularly happy with them. I always seem to get a better connection and play better football with other brandings of boots. I do not believe that the leather used in these boots are of such a high standard as those made by Nike or Reebok, for example.
The price
-----------
The plus side of these boots, is that they are usually quite reasonably priced. I think i picked up my last pair of 'real' umbro's for about £40 which is a very good price considering that a pair of predators or air legends will set you back about £130 new.
The quality
-------------
This is another area i do not believe that umbro excel. I remember that my last pair actually broke. The end of the right toe ripped off and the sole started to become very worn. I do not expect this from a pair of boots that are generally well looked after and only worn a couple of times a week or so.
The colours
--------------
Generally, umbro boots are not lavish or colourful. Usually quite generic, this is another reason why i do not particularly like this brand.
Summary
-----------
I probably would not buy them again. Poor quality and not particularly good when they are working.
Summary: 2 Stars merely because of the cheapness!!!
