Virgin Active (Leeds)Newest Review: ... This obviously makes it extremely difficult to get too and therefore is not the best aspect of the gym. I think to use it regularly you would definately need a car. 2/5. Gym Facilities ----------------- The gym facilities were, as you would expect, absolutely first class and i was very impressed. On your walk into the changing rooms you go past the wide range of both cardio and weights products that the gym has to offer. Cardio wise there is an abundance of x-trainers, runners, cycles and step machines, whereas for weights there are ample machines which work the entire body and also free weights for those more dedicated weight lifters. I popped in to the Virgin Active Gym near Kirkstall the other day after receiving a weeks free entry from my University after joining the rugby team. I turned up after a long night out and really needed a relaxation fix, but i spent some time in the gym as well and was extremely impressed. Location ---------- The location of the Virgin Active gym in Leeds is a bit of a disappointment. It is located in the suburb of Kirkstall which is a good 5 miles out of the city centre. This obviously makes it extremely difficult to get too and therefore is not the best aspect of the gym. I think to use it regularly you would definately need a ... Read the complete review

i attended virgin active a few months back now and after being shown around i become a member. The facilities available in the gym are absolutely fantastic, these include swimming pool, weights, CV equipment, Yoga equipment, Sauna, Steam room, Tanning beds, and a variety of classes such as boxing, cycling, circuits and light weights yoga, so everything for everyone really!! The layout is very good i think, and the cleanliness and space of the changing facilities was to an incredible standard. There was also an indoor cafe with food and drink and internet acess available too. If you have kids there is a club they can be taken care off and they can also partipate in kids ... *This review is based on my experiences of the Virgin Active gym in Bickley - it seems odd that individual gyms would be added, as opposed to the gym as a chain.* From my first trip to sign up at this gym I was impressed by the quality of the facilities and the businesslike manner of the staff. There's always someone around when you need them and I have no complaints at all on this front. The gym itself features a huge range of cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, cross trainers, steppers and all the other favourites), several suites (including one for spin classes, which are too energetic for me!) In addition to this there are lots of resistance ... Read the complete review

This opinion is based on the Virgin Active Gym @ Stockley Park only. I have never been to any other Virgin Gym in the country so am unable to comment on those. Initial Thoughts Virgin Gym?s are everything you would expect from Richard Branson?s highflying brand. From walking into the reception you know you are in for a unique gyming experience. The décor is bright, young and funky with lots of promotional information plastered over the walls. Registration and Membership Costs Joining the gym is a very pleasant experience, a member of staff gives you a tour of the entire complex explaining the training areas in detail, the ... Well vigin have done it again! Branched out into another field of business and risen to the very top. The vigin gym in leeds (kirkstall road) opened up last year. I joined two months ago and pay 42pounds per month, no joining fee and i got free towl. Apart from the massive lockers, changing rooms, shower area, there is a large fitness area, loads of different machines, two enclosed class rooms, where fitness grps take place, cable tv's placed all around the gym, and each machine has headphone sockets on them to listen to any of the channels. There's health shop, internet portal, food store, free papers and chill out zone, spa, pool, ... Read the complete review
