St Annes is not exactly known for its wonderfully wide range of sporting options, but it does have a pool, and that pool offers Aqua Aerobics sessions and, once in a blue moon when we were at school, we’d go along and join in. This summer I was working in a hotel with a quite active Animation team who also offered classes in this, so on my (very few) days off, I’d do this slip, slop, slap thing (one of our mottos for the kids - slip on a t-shirt, slap on a hat and slop on some sun cream) and head to the pool for an hour or so’s fun in the sun. Now I’m over here, living about 20m for a pool that offers AA classes, and occasionally if I get out of ... Read the complete review

A few years ago, well about 10! My Mam and her friend decided to go to Aqua-cise (as is the term for Water Aerobics at my local leisure centre) and they pursuaded me to join them. I really wanted to go and I had a free period at college the time of the class so I tagged along more out of curiousity than anything else. We got changed and went through to the private pool where they hold classes and the first thing I noticed was that everyone was quite a lot older than my Mam - and definitely a lot older than me. Anyway everyone was really nice, sharing tips on wearing rubberised verruca socks to have a good grip on the pool when doing the workout. Then the ... Read the complete review

Aquaerobics is for everyone. It is fun and very enjoyable. I found it an excellent way to get started exercising again after a long break from the gym. You all get in the water and find an area of space where you can stand up and still breath!!*L*.... which for short people such as myself can be difficult at times if the session is very well attended!! There will be an instructor who hopefully will wear a microphone so that you can hear the directions they give you clearly and loudly..... you would be suprised how difficult it is to make out what is being said when you have several people splashing about in a swimming pool *g* Many ... Our local pool runs quite a lot of clubs for all ages and one of these is aqua aerobics. They have a range of different classes to suit all abilities and you can even attend a one if you are expecting. The aerobics involves lots of different exerises but you do them in the pool. If you are good at it then you can position yourself at the deeper end of the pool and if you aren't then you can do what I do and sit in the shallow end. The instructors tend to do the exercises at the side of the pool so you can see what they are doing and copy. They will get you using all parts of your body and every now and again you will get a float thrown into the pool to work ... Read the complete review

I suggest Water Aerobics to everyone, even to those people who are not really too keen on taking classes of any kind but want to keep fit or loose weight. Water Aerobics is really great and the best thing is that you don't even sweat as you probably would in a normal gym doing all those exercises. The water then, even if we don't realize, makes doing all the exercises harder and keeping fit has never been so easy! It's even better then if you can manage to geta couple of other friends with you when you start, that'll make it even more enjoyable and funny. ... Read the complete review
