Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Poor quality darts, the wire on the board bends too easily

I am fairly new to the world of darts. I enjoy watching it and found it quite addictive to play down my local pub, so I invested in this Winmau Diamond Dart board, which came with a set of darts, for the price of just £25.99. This deal was found online and I would recommend looking there for it, rather than relying on a high street store.

I was really happy with the board. At first glance it looks decent and nice. Then I started to think about the damage that stray darts could do to my wall, so I decided to purchase a separate casing unit to place the board in. Unfortunately, the cost of the casing was quite high. I would advise all of you to look into buying the dart board already in the case.

I attached the dartboard to the casing and then attached the casing to the wall (at the official height of course). It was a fairly straight forward process, which simply required a few screws and a screw driver. One thing that is very important when attaching your dartboard to the wall, is to ensure that the location will give you enough room to throw the darts from the proper distance, which mine did.

The darts that come with the board are a low quality set, which are poorly weighted. They do not feel correct. The flights come off to easily and are difficult to get back on. They are poorly decorated in red and blue colours. If you buy this set, the chances are you will need to invest in a decent set of darts, but these will do the job for beginners.

When I started using the darts and the board I was reasonably happy with the way the board handled the impact of the darts. The starts stayed in the board, when little force needed. After a while the area around the 20 begins to get a little worn, but this should be expected on all darts boards.

My main concern though, was the wires that separate the numbers. When a dart would strike the wire, it left a big indent. It could also lead to the wire becoming mishapen, which is no good what so ever.

All in all this isn't a great set when you think about it. The boards wire bends to easily and the darts are average at best. But in my opinion it is perfect for a beginner. I have certainly got a large amount of use out of it and for £25.99 you can hardly grumble.

I give it three out of five Dooyoo stars, as the word average just about sums it up.

Summary: Good for beginners
