      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Gets 4 out of 5 mainly due to the low price

The woodworm gold hard drive bat is a great cricket bat once used by many international players. It has big thick edges, a nice middle middle and is made from English willow. The bat is ideal for anyone who likes to hit the ball big and out of the ground with minimum effort. The bat itself is made in India so for anyone who hasn't used an Indian made bat before, they wont last you a lifetime. I have used a few and they themselves have only lasted between 1 and 2 years. But with the price that low at the minute, this is a deal not to be missed. The stickers are above the rest with the lovely black and gold finish tinted off with a nice gold grip. Don't let the sponsorship deals of Pietersen and Flintoff put you off buying this bat. A deal not to be missed!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

not my thing but for someone else would be perfect

i know this is not about the satellite but thought i would stick this in here as dont know where else to put it

Me and a mate were bored a couple of weeks ago so we decided to go to peter lorimers at bishop to have a look at some stuff for mates but had no intention of getting anything but when we got there i was looking at some lush pumas and kooks when i saw this at the back of the stand, i love the satellite stickers from what i had seen of them but never seen them in the flesh so had a look and loved this bat, it was only a bronze but the grains where lush. The bat is a little concaved which i normaly dont like but i just knew i would get it, after missing our bus we decided to go back and i bought it! £80 and they slapped some oil on gave me a scuff sheet and a bat cover for free.

The Bat is sh and weighs 2lb 8 and it feels like it it doesnt pick up like 2lb 6 or whatever and i think it feels a little bottom heavy. I presume it is a bronze because of the 2 small Blemishes? on the face.
Well after bringing it home i got down to finishing knocking it in, it realy pings from the middle but when you dont hit the middle it doesnt sound good but still goes in places.

      Nets and Playing in

When i was playing in it realy seemed to ping well but obviously i was just defending and hitting the middle. since then i have used it in the nets a bit more and it hasnt being going well however i think when i get used to the middle on it it should get better

      Matches

I have had a few matches with this bat and am finding runs hard to come by which could come down to misfourtune because i have played a few nice shots from the middle but keep finding the fielders, away from the middle it sounds horrible and doesnt go well which you get from concaving

      Overall

Overall i am still glad i got it however i dont think the profile suits my technique however it could yet come good, So that is one bad point and i would also like it to pick up a bit lighter but still the grains, middle and price make up for this.

So its not a perfect bat that you hear a lot of people talk about they have with however many ruler straight grains, picks up like a feather and pings even from the toe and the splice however i think this review is true about the bat,,

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

This bat has so much potential!

      Woodworm Gold Hard Drive

      **Introduction**

I need to start off by categorically stating that I am not a fan whatsoever of woodworm bats. I believe they are very average and are made to look so good because Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen use these bats, hence the publicity, as these two players are some of the worlds greatest! However, I heard that the bat had a good middle, so I purchased one at a reduced cost and starting using the bat for a few nets!

      **Preparation**

I prepared the bat very well, knocking in throughly and oiling well. This process took me a long time, but I hoped that by the end, I would have a good bat! Whilst knocking in, a process which I did for about eight hours altogether, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. The bat seemed to have a very good middle and a decent toe, which was essential for the type of pitches that I would be playing on in the forthcoming season

      **Throwdowns**

The more throwdowns I had with this bat, the better it felt to be honest. From thinking that Woodworm was my least favourite make, it quickly became my favourite - I was thrilled with the rewards that I was reaping. The bat was well balanced, and despite the fact that it weighed 2'7", the bat picked up somewhere near 2'5". I was delighted. I could tell that after the disappointment of my Newbury, this was going to be a great piece of willow and was going to get me a lot of runs!

      **Disaster**

I was having a net with my brother and a few friends, about a month after I had purchased it. A fast ball was dug in around my feet and I had to dig it out. Consequently the bat shattered as the impact was too strong and there was no give for the bat to go. It snapped in half and I was absolutely devastated

      **My advice**

This is a great bat would it does break easily so it is a big risk to take!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

a great bat for all cricketers

I purchased this bat at the beggining of the season for £100 and is now in most places half the price i paid but i am not bothered about that because of the quality of a bat i got. The stickers are sleek and the dimensions are so cool and proffesional. It did need quite a bit of knocking in but i think any bat should be knocked in a lot before its used and let me tell you now it was worth every moment because my woodworm hard drive pings like no other bat i have ever had before. My Hard drive has 8 straight grains all the way down th bat with a very little bit of heart wood. Since i got this bat other people at my club have got it aswell, i think this i down to the stickers being attractive. My mate got the Hard drive silver edition in Short Handle and it really pings and seams to be areally nice piece of willow aswell so i think woodworm have done brilliantly with this bat as they had a hard act to follow after the torch in particular being such a success.
