Advantages: Effective, Simple, Absolute bargain

Disadvantages: None

I bought these to help me train for a fitness test I had to do which involved press-ups (or push-ups, whatever you want to call them).

You perform normal press-ups but you grip the handles on these stands which raises your hands off the floor about 4 inches or so. This enables you to lower yourself further down (so that your hands are virtually in-line with your shoulders) which means it's more of a workout for all the muscles involved.

Another thing these do is take some of the strain off your wrists as they're not in a unnatural 90 degree angle pressed against the floor.

I used these everyday and after only a few weeks I had increased the number of press-ups I can do considerably. You can also use them for doing tricep dips, but I still prefer to use something a bit higher.

They're very simple to assemble - just 3 parts each and you just bolt them together with wingnuts, and they're very sturdy. At £4.99 they're a bargain too.

I'm a great believer in not needing fancy expensive gym machines etc and these prove it. They're small enough to take with you if you travel around lots too.

Definitely recommended as part of a daily home work out, especially if you're short on space or don't want a big home gym machine cluttering the place up.

I can't say I'm the most qualified to speak of fitness, but you definitely made the point!
