Entries can be made through the English Golf Union, from June 1st onwards, either by printing of an application form and forwarding it to the Englsih Golf Union or by using its online entry process. There is an entry fee of £20 but this includes 3 rounds of comptitive golf as well as a practice round. The competition attracts boys within the age range from all over the world and although the price money, which is in the form of a voucher, which is reletively small, it is a highly prestigious golfing event for any under 14 year old boy. The Reid Trophy is a golf competition open to boys age U14 on the 1st January. It is an annual competition, usually taking place during the first week in August. The location is any golf course in England although the destination is advertised on the English Golf Union website, (EGU website) two years in advance. This coming year, 2011 the competition will be held at Porters Park Golf Club just inside the M25.
