Sporting Opportunities in DevonNewest Review: ... are spoilt for choice. You can venture out across the moors with a trained expert and perfectly schooled horses or if you fancy taking a ride along the beach then this is also catered for. 2) Golf. I'm not keen on playing Golf but I like to hit a few balls off of the golfing range to vent my aggression sometimes. My dad is a keen golfer and has been a member of various different clubs throughout Devon. So whether it's a 9 hole, 18 hole or you just fancy hitting a few balls then you can find it all in Devon. 3) ski-ing and snowboarding Unfortunately we don't get much snow these days but in our City we have a big ski slope where you can p... more |

There is so much to do in Devon when it comes to sports. We are so blessed to live right by the sea but we also have Dartmoor right on our doorstep too so this might enable the people of Devon to participate in a range of different sports more than people that live in more built up areas. Here are just a few: 1) Horseriding This is my personal favourite. There are so many riding school in, around and just outside the Moor that you are spoilt for choice. You can venture out across the moors with a trained expert and perfectly schooled horses or if you fancy taking a ride along the beach then this is also catered for. 2) Golf. I'm not keen ... There are lots of sports to do in Devon, but bear in mind that it is often cold and wet here, so whilst you CAN do them it's not always much fun! 1) Watersports - there is water everywhere, so use it. We live next to the river, and rowing, waterskis and jet-skis all use this waterway. On top of that there is a lot of diving that takes place in the area. Whilst Cornwall is better known for it, there are also decent surfing beaches around Devon such as Bantham. Also, there are lots of sailing clubs locally so why not get involved in one of them? 2) Hiking and walking - Dartmoor is just the best place to hike and walk, so get out there. Be careful ... It seems even more ironic that we are now discovering the green credentials of trams, and re-stuffing all that infrastructure back into the ground; well, in Manchester, Sheffield, West Midlands and Croydon we have (more London routes are pencilled in by Ken L too)! The Seaton Tramway of which I write owes a lot to Eastbourne - yes I know it's 100 miles along the coast in a different ... Read the complete review

Anglers Paradise is a holiday complex in Devon, Halwill Junction to be exact the fishing is exclusively for holiday makers staying in any of the villas on the complex. The complex has 12 superb lakes:- The Jewel in the Estate is the 4 ½ acre Main Carp Lake. The lake has 5 islands as well as a Pagoda (shelter) which is primarily for disabled anglers, but can be used by any angler when not occupied by a disabled angler. My favourite lake on the complex would have to be the Koi lake, as far as I am aware this is the only lake of its kind – a lake exclusively stocked with Koi Carp. The lake is around 2 ½ acres in size and is stuffed full of Koi ... Read the complete review
