The fight is scored on striking ability, submission attempts, and overall ring dominance, other factors can come into play depending on the situation. The fight will be stopped if: The fighter physically or verbally taps out, gets knocked unconscious, takes a beating without defending himself or receives a bad cut that could cause the fighter long lasting damage. UFC The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the fastest growing sport in the world and is currently taking over from boxing as the biggest combat sport. It involves every form of martial arts from boxing, ju-jitsu, wrestling, muay thai and just about any other form of martial art you can think of. Billing itself as 'As real as it gets' they offer a product that is 'more real' than professional wrestling but still more exciting than boxing. The fights themselves take place inside an octagon shaped cage. Due to the grappling that takes place in a lot of the bouts, the cage is used to protect the fighters so they don't roll out through or fall ...  Read the complete review

The 'Ultimate Fighting Championship' (UFC) is as it sounds not for the faint hearted, it can be very brutal and is the closest you could ever get to a legal street fight. It came about as a result of a one-off tournament with the aim of finding the world's best fighter irrespective of their fighting style. Competitors come from a wide variety of fighting and martial art backgrounds, making the fights very interesting as you see how fighters try to combat each others strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses. Although it was originally promoted has having hardly any rules and using the slogan "no holds barred," the UFC today is much different ...  Read the complete review

As there is no description or picture for this DVD I have decided to write a review of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as a organisation, rather than a DVD review. The UFC (first event 1991) is a group that is in some ways similar to Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment (formally the WWF). The type of fights are called Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and feature a wide variety of different fighter skill sets. From Muay Thai to Brazilian Jui-Jitsu, Kickboxing to amateur wrestling (and a whole lot more, just about every fighting style is represented here, with the most successful fighter being able to blend several styles together. All fighters are ...  Read the complete review
