WWE - Survivor Series 2006 (DVD)
by Rayman999
WWE Survivor Series 2006 was a great event it was the 20th annual Survivor Series Pay per view. There was some good matches on card including three traditional survivor series tag team elimination matches.
The Match Card
WWE Legends (Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter, Dusty Rhodes and Ron Simmons vs The Spirit Squad (Kenny, ... Johnny, Nicky and Mikey.
This match did well to kick of the show, With the WWE Legends getting a good ovation from the WWE fans.
Chris Benoit vs Chavo Guerrero
The legendary Chris Benoit took on Chavo Guerrero in respect of his friend Eddie. This was a good wrestling match and Vicki Guerrero got involved in the match up as well.
Mickie James vs Lita(C) for the Womens Title
This match was a good one and was Lita's last WWE match as well and did she get boo'ed or what!
Team DX (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk and Matt Hardy) vs Team Rated-RKO (Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Mike Knox and Gregory Helms )
Team DX came out to a loud ovation there was a lot of CM Punk chants as well in the crowd. RATED RKO came out to huge heat this was not the best match though of the night, Randy Orton came in this match a record winner in Survivor Series tag team matches so he could keep hold of the record? He had never been beaten in a tag team elimination match at the Survivor series.
Mr Kennedy vs The Undertaker in a first blood match.
This was a great contest Kennedy was on top of his career here, Kennedy took it to the Undertaker and these two produced a really good match.
Team Cena (John Cena, Kane, Bobby Lashley, Sabu and Rob Van Dam) vs Team Big Show (The Big Show, Test, Montel Vontavious Porter, Finlay and Umaga)
This match up was a good one, Cena came out to a mixed reaction. The tag team matches saw a lot of 5 vs 5 action at one point, a lot of the times in the match all the wrestlers in the ring would fight each other as well.
King Booker(C) vs Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship
King Booker came in the match with a lot of confidence and he was boasting about how he would win against Batista. This was actually a boring match but had a nice ending to it.
Overall not my favourite Survivor Series PPV of all time but a decent one overall.
Summary: A good ppv Read the complete review |

WWE - The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
by Rayman999
The WWE Great American Bash is just of WWE's long running pay per views. In 2008 the main event was between Edge and Triple H and also featured an parking lot brawl match between John Cena and JBL.
Match Card/ Match Review
Wwe Tag Team Championship Fatal 4 Way: Ryder/Hawkins d. Finlay/Hornswaggle, Jesse/Festus, and ... Miz/Morrison(c)
The crowd liked this match a lot and were behind Jesse and Fetus an lot. The match ended up with some cheating antics from Ryder and Hawkins to win the WWE tag team titles!
2)United States Championship: Shelton Benjamin d. Matt Hardy(c)
Benjamin is way underated he has got some talent when he is wrestling. Benjamin was strong in the match and he and Hardy put on a good performance which did entertain the crowd and surely is a good match to watch on the card.
3) Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
This feud from the WWE has been overplayed too much the typical HBK is weak and cant fight any more. This match was by no means an classic just a typical match which should have been on Raw.
4) ECW Championship: Mark Henry(c) d. Tommy Dreamer w/ Colin Delaney
This match was basically an card filler on the ppv card with Henry getting the easy win who didnt see that coming!
5) For The new Divas Championship: Michelle McCool d. Natalya
A good wrestling match both of the women did well in the ring and put on an good match.
6) World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk(c) vs. Batista
A great main event which was ruined as Kane got involved in the match and chokeslamed Batista. The match was doing well and the crowd were into it until Kane ruined it. Its not good to see a NO CONTEST ending on an main event title match like this at a ppv.
7) NYC Parking Lot Brawl: John Bradshaw Layfield vs John Cena
Any kid could tell this is nothing but fake! It was all too badly set up the wrestlers fighted backstage in the arena for most of the match. For the last bit of the match they came on the stage to fight for an bit and then JBL threw Cena hard onto a car window to get the win. Cool ending to the match but overall it was boring to watch as the match looked too fake.
8) WWE Championship: Triple H(c) d. Edge
Best match of the night in my opinion Triple H and Edge have got some good chemistry together. The match took a turn point when Vicki Guerrero got involved and accidentaly got hit by Edge! As he looked in horror of his mistake Triple H got him from behind with the Pedigree for the win and retain the WWE TITLE!
Overall not the best WWE PPV of 2008 by all means, No Undertaker in the PPV and no Randy Orton was not the best PPV if you ask me of 2008 and apart from HHH vs Edge it was an weak ppv. Read the complete review |

Davina - My Pre And Post Natal Workouts (DVD)
by Julie449
Davina's pre and post natal workouts dvd has gentle yet effective fitness routines for during and after your pregnancy. I bought this dvd when I was pregnant, as I was worried about how much weight I was putting on and how unfit I was beginning to feel in my pregnancy. I bought this dvd for around £10, I know that there are cheaper dvds ... out there for and after pregnancy but I feel this dvd is worth spending a little more on.
On the cover of the dvd there are two pictures of Davina, one with a big pregnant belly and one looking like her usual toned self.
Once the dvd has loaded up before we get to the menu like on most fitness dvds there is a disclaimer, with advice on when not to exercise and it suggests to consult your doctor or midwife before beginning this dvd. I know that fitness dvds have to feature this kind of information, but it really is important to be extra careful when pregnant, and although it is most likely going to be fine i feel its best to ask first.
The dvd begins with an introduction from Davina after she has given birth, in which she gives us some of her personal experiences, recommendations and whats to come on the dvd.
Each routine includes a warm up, some low impact aerobics, lots of toning exercises, and those very important for new mothers pelvic floors, followed by some stretching.
As I'm sure you're guessed the pregnancy workout is first followed by the post natal workout. It is suggested to start the post natal workout six weeks after giving birth and longer if you have had a c section. All you need for these workouts is a chair, a mat and in one section you need some pillows. No expensive equipment necessary. Workouts are done with Davina and her personal trainer Jackie. These workouts are made with the support of the National childbirth Trust.
The exercises in this dvd are straight forward, easy to follow and you can take them at your own pace. Davina is brilliant throughout the dvd, she really makes you feel at ease, and her giggles with Jackie and her cheeky personality make it feel less intense.
I had a few pregnancy dvds and this was by far my favourite. Although the post natal workouts are obviously a little more challenging they are not too impossible or intense, perfect for getting back into excercise after having your baby when you are feeling a little unfit. I say this but I do tend to use the post natal workout now and again even now and my son is 3. The pregnancy workout is a great way to stay active while pregnant and the more active you are during your pregnancy the more help this will be during your labour, at least thats what they say. The only real negative I have about this dvd is that the workouts are quite long, and especially as a new mum it is hard to find the time to fit something like this in. My advice get Daddy or grandparents to take over the baby duties for a little while, so you can focus on your workout. Davina has a great mindset and really keeps you focused yet have fun at the same time. I would highly recommend this dvd to all expectant and new mums.
This dvd also comes with a little added extra- Davina's top tips, on being pregnant, on giving birth, and being a new mum. This section includes some lovely advice and funny stories.
Running time is approx 113 minutes, and has english subtitles for the hard of hearing. Read the complete review |
