I'm on a mission; to lose weight. To boost my Weight Watchers' diet I have been trying to do as much exercise as I can. One method of exercise I have been doing is exercise videos. Today I will be reviewing Gaynor Faye's Fit Friends fitness workout DVD. The DVD is currently available to buy from Amazon for a price of £2.54 which I think is great value for money.
I found the routines to be relatively easy so I would say that they are fairly easy to pick up and as they are quite repetitive it means that you have plenty of time and chances to pick up the moves. One thing I do find that because the moves are so repetitive it does get a bit boring after a while.
I like the fact that the workout is split up into five different sections, each lasting ten minutes. I find this to be motivational because you know that if it gets a bit tough then at least you know the end is near. I also like the ten minute workouts because it means that if you are in a rush then you can just pick and choose whichever one you have time for and so when you've done your ten minutes then you can finish knowing that you have had a good workout, unlike when you do a big workout and have to finish half way through due to lack of time which leaves me feeling like a failure because I haven't finished it.
All in all, I would recommend this DVD for a nice bit of fairly gentle exercise. It's ok for a couple of times, but any more than that and I started to get a bit bored.
Thanks for reading!
After watching Gaynor Faye's successful appearance in Dancing on ice (she won the show in 2006) I went and got her exercise dvd Fit Friends Workout. She really seemed to get in shape while being on the show and I thought it would be a quite different and interesting take on exercising dvds.
The workout routine is designed by Gaynor's Dancing on ice partner Dan Whiston and is aimed at giving you firmer thighs a smaller waist and a dancers bum, something I am sure we would all like.
It is split p into five sections:
Pumping with Beans (a really difficult but effective section)
Dan's Dynamite Disco (will leave you out of breath)
It also has a bonus section, some healthy eating advice and interviews with Gaynor and Dan.
I thought this dvd was really good, maybe not what you would call enjoyable as I found it really hard!!!! It is not an exercise dvd for the light hearted and I really struggled with it at first but that is how exercise should be. It is easy to follow and you can progress it when you feel ready ie. the arm exercises can be done without weights to begin with but then start using weights, they suggest a tin of beans, which are heavier than you think.
The only negative thing I can say is that Dan's voice gets really annoying after a while but if you can cope with that I'm sure the dvd will give you results. After a while though, as with all the dvds I try I got bored of doing this after a while. I think they all get repetitive when you do them often.
