      Advantages

      Disadvantages

You will get results if you stick with it

I've already reviewed 30 Day Shred, Six Week Six Pack is the DVD I'm working with alongside it. I bought a pack of four but two of them seemed more focussed on burning fat, whereas I'm more interested in toning up. I've found 30 Day Shred and Six Week Six Pack include a good combination of both cardio and strength so I decided to stick with these two.

The pack of four I bought off Amazon was about £15 but you can buy this on its own for £6.38 including free delivery.

      **Who is she?**
Jillian Michaels was one of the trainers on Biggest Loser and she is VERY pushy. She barks at you in a military style, shouting at you to not give up and keep going. At first, you might find yourself getting annoyed with her, but if you stick with it, it's actually very motivational and you want to keep going to prove that you can.

      **How it works**
Start with level one and, when you feel ready, move up to level two. I'm still on level one at the moment because I find it very difficult and I've only actually done it seven times so far.

It's a lot harder than level one of 30 Day Shred; some days I can't even get all the way through it. I used to feel disheartened with my lack of ability until I looked at the other girls in the video, working behind Jillian, and even they; lean, fit, lithe, young women were out of breath and were making expressions like they were struggling through it. So it made me feel a lot better about myself!

There's a whole combination of moves here and it isn't just 25 minutes of boring crunches. There are regular crunches of course, but they're combined with long level crunches, diagonal crunches, bicycle crunches, push ups, side planks, caterpillars as well as a series of standing crunches with weights to make sure you're also toning up your arms, legs and bottom at the same time.

Each exercise only lasts for a couple of minutes but you don't get a break before moving onto the next one so it's constant, non stop workout for 25 minutes (plus warm up and cool down). The circuit lasts for about 12 minutes and is repeated; the first time through it's quite slow and the second time through she speeds it up, although I would prefer it to be the other way around as I'm getting tired after only 12 minutes of working!

      **Results**
Well I've been doing this one and 30 Day Shred for about four weeks so far. I don't think I'll have a six pack in another two weeks and I only had a small amount of fat to lose, but I think the name holds a little bit of artistic licence. Obviously it depends how much fat is hiding your muscles, how hard you can push yourself and how often you do it. I've been doing it five times a week for four weeks and I can DEFINITELY feel extra definition in my abs, especially when I tense them up so this has motivated me to keep going.

I have eight weeks before I go on holiday and wear my bikini and I'm confident, if I stick with this workout, that I will have a flat, toned tummy in time for that.

        Disadvantages

Ditch your gym membership and prepare to sweat off those love handles!

I have several of Jillian Michaels' workout DVDs. I mainly got into them because of brilliant reviews from friends and very high ratings on Amazon. I now have Killer Buns and Thighs, Ripped in 30 and this one 6 week six-pack and they are all brilliant and really make you sweat. I cancelled my gym membership 6 months ago and have never looked back. These workouts are better than any classes I have done at the gym and are a fraction of cost and time commitment.

I have to start by saying - don't expect a 6 pack in 6 weeks. To be fair, Jillian doesn't even have a 6 pack in the picture on the front of the box, so I don't think it's meant to be taken literally. She does look very toned, which is inspirational and after completing the program, my abs looked similarly toned.

Jillian's workouts are not for the faint-hearted. She's very shouty in a bootcamp style, which I find to be very motivating. And oh my god, did I ache for several days after the first time I tried this!

The workout follows the tried and tested high-intensity interval training style. You start with a total-body warm-up then a series of fat-shredding cardio-circuits and muscle-toning core exercises. With both standing and floor-based work, the exercises are simple, but challenging and require no more equipment than a couple of hand weights. The first half of each workout is done slowly to enable you to learn the moves then you repeat it in double time. Each exercise is only performed for no more than a couple of minutes, which means it's easy to suck it up and hold out to till the end of each one. Jillian always seems to pick the right time to tell you there's only a few seconds left when you think you can't hold out for any longer. She spends a lot of time pointing out the common errors in the moves, which really helps to achieve correct form. The workouts end with a full series of stretches. Once you are ready to move onto something more challenging, you can move onto the second workout.

At 35 minutes for a whole workout, it is hard to use the excuse of not having enough time to fit it in and these workouts really gave me the results I was looking for.

A great workout to tone your tummy up

Some of you who are reading this may already know who Jillian Michaels is, for those who do not, she is an American personal trainer who found fame as one of the trainers on the American version of the Biggest Loser. She is well known for her hard workouts and evil attitude, as well as the amazing results she gets from people.

When I found that she had her own range of DVD's I was more then willing to give them a try, as I have recently lost weight and want to tone up a bit. I went on Amazon and found a selection of her DVD's. One of the ones I have bought is called 6 Week 6 Pack and is basically a workout designed to work your abs and your core.

Just the stomach Jillian has is enough of an advert to make me want to buy this DVD! I was quite excited to try this DVD when it arrived.

There is 3 levels of workouts on this DVD, with Level 1 being the lowest and the best one to start with. Do not be thinking that level 1 means it is easy though, it really isn't!! I found that the workout was a bit of a challenge to start with, although you do soon get used to it and eventually progress up to level 2 and then one day level 3.

Jillian and 2 other women are on this DVD and they show you different variations of each workout move that can be done to make it either a little bit easier for beginners, or a little bit harder for those who are a bit more advanced, but are not yet ready to move up to the next level. Each move is explained well, so even those brand new to working out should pick this up quickly.

There is moves for cardio burning and stretching in this DVD as well, which makes it a much better workout than just doing crunches or other types of ab workouts. You can really feel it working as you go through, and the different ranges of moves and motions really makes me feel like all my muscles are working in my core, including my back, not just my stomach.

Each workout lasts about 30 mins, or there about, and it tends to go past quite quickly. I definatley build up a sweat whilst doing these workouts, and just doing this DVD about 3 times a week, I soon started to see a difference in my stomach and I hope to keep going all the way into level 3, although level 2 is scary enough!!

If you want to tone up your stomach, without gym trips and expensive equipment, this may be just what you are looking for. You can do this workout in the comfort of your own home, and being only a 30 minute workout, most people could fit this into their day at some point. It really is a great way to get your tummy in shape and get your butt kicked all at the same time!

Like I said earlier, I got my copy of this DVD from the Amazon website, but you can also buy it in HMV and on other online stores. I found that Amazon is the cheapest supplier of it, and you can get free shipping too when bought from Amazon, which is not offered on all other sites I found this DVD on. I paid just over £5 for this DVD, which I think is wonderful value for money, as it will just keep on going and it is such a cheap investment in your own health and wellbeing.

I give this DVD a 5 out of 5 stars, and I think that everyone who is looking for a more toned stomach should at least try this DVD. The results will speak for themselves.
