... and surely is a good match to watch on the card. 3) Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho This feud from the WWE has been overplayed too much the typical HBK is weak and cant fight any more. This match was by no means an classic just a typical match which should have been on Raw. 4) ECW Championship: Mark Henry(c) d. Tommy Dreamer w/ Colin Delaney This match was basically an card filler on the ppv card with Henry getting the easy win who didnt see that coming! 5) For The new Divas Championship: Michelle McCool d. WWE - The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD): Mostly good PPV (424 words)

Rating:

The Great American Bash is the final June PPV of that name before it was re-branded as "The Bash", and it's a pretty decent way to see the name out. The first bout was a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship, with champs John Morrison and The Miz defending against the teams of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, Jesse and Festus and Finlay and Hornswoggle. This isn't an especially great match but there are a few good athletic moments and the result is quite satisfying. Secondly, the WWE United States Champion, Matt Hardy defends against Shelton Benjamin. This is the best match of the night for my money; it is athletic ...  Read the complete review

WWE Great American Bash 2008 took place in July, hosted in Uniondale, New York. This was the 8th WWE PPV of the year after WWE Night of Champions 2008 and it preceeds WWE Summerslam which is one month later. The main feuds leading into this show were Triple H and Edge on the WWE Smackdown brand, and CM Punk and Batista on the WWE Raw brand. Lets review the card: -- Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder vs. John Morrison & The Miz vs. Jesse & Festus vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle -- This was for the WWE Tag Team Championship. This was a solid and quite fast paced opener that lasted around 10 minutes, it probably needed more time ...  Read the complete review

Event Review: WWE Great American Bash 2008 (July 20th 2008) was the fifth annual pay per view event produced under its title name by World Wrestling Entertainment. Having formerly been a historic event for Jim Crockett promotions and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the event's home now lies with the WWE promotion. The show was hosted by all three brand shows in the WWE; RAW, ECW, and Smackdown. Live from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, the PPV boasted 14,126 spectators to witness a historical evening in wrestling. The music theme song of the evening was "Move to the Music" by American Bang. Six WWE ...  Read the complete review

Not the best bash (537 words)

The WWE Great American Bash is just of WWE's long running pay per views. In 2008 the main event was between Edge and Triple H and also featured an parking lot brawl match between John Cena and JBL. Match Card/ Match Review Wwe Tag Team Championship Fatal 4 Way: Ryder/Hawkins d. Finlay/Hornswaggle, Jesse/Festus, and Miz/Morrison(c) The crowd liked this match a lot and were behind Jesse and Fetus an lot. The match ended up with some cheating antics from Ryder and Hawkins to win the WWE tag team titles! 2)United States Championship: Shelton Benjamin d. WWE - The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD): Boring (153 words)
by - written on 21/05/09 (Useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

The concept of The Great American Bash was contrived by 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes and was introduced as one of its yearly payperviews a few years ago. The 2008 Event saw a fantastic singles match between the participants of the feud of the year Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho, which really did steal the show. The rest of the card wasn't fantastic but was watchable none the less. Triple H fought Edge in a WWE Championship match which was fair. The match between CM Punk and Batista was a dissapointment ending in double disqualification. JBL and Cena stunk the house up with a poor Parking Lot Brawl. Overall, you could tell that WWE weren't too ...  Read the complete review
