The night after Wrestlemania 27, on Raw, the main event for Wrestlemania 28 was set.
It was going to be The Rock, making his first in ring appearance since 2003, against the man who had lost the night before at Mania 27, John Cena.
An almost perfect match, the modern day poster boy against the man who layed the Smackdown in the attitude era.
So in front of 78,000 people in Miami the PPV took place
The card was as followed ... (No spoilers)
Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus - The match that stupidly lasted 18 seconds, poor move.
Kane vs Randy Orton - Nothing special to be honest, disappointed at the time.
Big Show vs Cody Rhodes - Result was so disappointing.
Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres - Divas match, speaks for itself.
So now your probably thinking, what? This PPV sounds far from brilliant, this is because the first 4 matches were terrible, but there were 4 more matches to turn this event around, and in my eyes, it did.
The Undertaker vs Triple H - Stole the show, one of the best Wrestlemania matches you will ever see, Hell in a cell as well.
Team Johnny (David Otunga, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, The Miz, and Drew McIntyre) (with John Laurinaitis, Vickie Guerrero, and Brie Bella) vs Team Teddy (Santino Marella, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Zack Ryder, The Great Khali, and Booker T) (with Theodore Long, Hornswoggle, Eve Torres, Nikki Bella, and Aksana) - Fairly happy with the result, match was not particularly special but wasn't bad.
Chris Jericho vs CM Punk - Brilliant - One of the best WWE title bouts in Mania history.
Once in a lifetime - Perfect. Not the match of the night that I had expected to see but what happened is what most wanted to see. A 5 out of 5 match with a result that most wanted to see, at least in my eyes. It was a major shame to see them ruin it next year at Wrestlemania 29, poor match and poor ending. As far as 28's bout goes, brilliant.
Now about the DVD itself.
Silvervision released this 3 disc set over in the UK in July 2012. The set runs 498 minutes, not just including the event but special features and the HOF ceremony from the previous night.
Overall a highly recommended event and the best Wrestlemania since 24.
8 out of 10 stars for the event.
