Small stadium with good facilities and atmosphere (Adams Park Stadium)

Adams Park in High Wycombe is home to Wycombe Wanderers football club as well as London Wasps rugby union club. The stadium is located near the A40 and is easily accessible, even though it is at the back of a business park that only has one road in.

I have only visited the stadium to watch Wasps so cannot couch for what it is like during a football game. It is about a 10000 seat stadium with 2 very modern large stands, one small stand which holds the changing rooms etc and one stand which is still terraced.

The facilities of the stadium are pretty good with plenty of toilets located in each stand, with toilets conveniently located at the ends of the stand for those seated in the bottom areas next to food and drink vendors.

There is a respectable variety of food and drink on offer which at rugby games includes alcoholic drinks that you are allowed to take to the seating areas. The pies on sale are very well priced and are not just cheap cuts of meat they do taste really nice and are well worth paying for if you are hungry.

On rugby match days the front car park where you enter the ground has large beer tents erected and loud music being played allowing for a very good natured environment where fans of both teams mix together freely without any trouble at all. There is also a further selection of foods on offer here such as hog roasts and burgers etc.

The ticket collection points are all well staffed and I have never had to wait more than 2 minutes to collect pre booked tickets with the staff being polite and helpful. The entrances to the various stands are well marked and laid out so you are not crushed together like sardines and everything is well signposted and marked so finding your seats is fairly easy.

The only draw back which is quite a big one is the parking, there is very limited parking in some of the businesses nearby for about £5 and in the ground for slightly more but these only hold 1-2 hundred cars at most. The clubs do offer a park and ride scheme for free from the train station and park and ride car parks located around Wycombe.

When seated in the stands I have found all seats offer a good view of the action with a mixture of fans making it a very enjoyable experience. I have been to countless rugby games at Adams Park and sat amongst the many travelling fans and have never witnessed any foul language or trouble between fans.

I cannot comment on what visiting the stadium will be like to visit with children but as the environment seems to be very family orientated and friendly I cant see there being too much trouble or difficulty.

All in all a good small stadium with a very vocal and enjoyable atmosphere.
