Advantages: No obvious ones

Disadvantages: Location

I have visited Adams Park a number of times over the years, and although as a a new purpose built ground it is never going to have the character of older grounds, it is a nice compact stadium with good facilities. However a first time visitor should be aware of the following points:

a) The ground is nowhere near the main railway station or the town centre. There are buses which take you close enough, but if you are coming from nearby, it is probably easier to drive, or at least allow 20-30 minutes more than you expected.

b) The ground is at the end of a cul-de-sac which is an industrial estate. This means that on matchdays all the businesses earn extra revenue from their car parks, but given that there is only one way out, you will have to decide whether parking very near the ground is worth the amount of time it will take you to get out afterwards. Also if you chance your arm on getting a space at the end of the row of businesses and they are full, you may find it difficult to extract yourself, and there simply are no side streets to help you escape. I have always opted for parking nearby and a short walk.

On the field Wanderers are on the up at the moment, having just won promotion to League One. Former England under 21 manager Peter Taylor is in charge, and whilst his team do not play the most entertaining football, they are not helped by a playing surface which undoubtedly suffers because of the ground share agreement with London Wasps.

Worth a visit overall, but it wouldn't be near the top of my list of favorite lower league grounds.

Summary: Worth a visit, but don't go out your way
