Blyth Golf Course New Delaval & Newsham Blyth NE24 4DB 01670-540110 This 18 hole golf course is a definite favorite with me. I have been a keen golf player for the last 2 years or so and spent quite a lot of time trying out the local courses before deciding which to commit to. I finally purchased my membership in Blyth and am confident that I made the right choice. The greens are fantastic and it also offers excellent value for money. In addition, the staff are very friendly and the other members are welcoming and always eager to pair up with newer members and offer tips and advice. The below information is taken from their website and demonstrates just how cost effective they are; Midweek without a member Round £25.00 Day ticket £30.00 Weekend without a member Round £27.50 Day ticket £33.00 Midweek with a member Round £15.00 Day ticket £20.00 Weekend with a member Round £15.00 Day ticket £20.00 Juniors (at all times) £8.00 Please note that all 241 golf is charged at day ticket rates. The above prices will apply until early October 2009 Electric golf buggies are available at £15 per round or £25 per day. So to recap, if you are a golf fan who is looking for stunning greens, friendly staff and members and very competitive prices, then look no further, Blyth awaits you!
One of the most challenging in Essex. Really enjoyable. My other half insisted I write this on his behalf...with his narration. Basildon Golf Course is one of the best, for a really challenging game. It is a long course, very hilly, with lots of blindshots, it`s a Par 72 & can be very difficult. It can also be quite cheap, after 5pm,(summer) it is only £9.50 a round. There`s a well stocked Golf shop, also selling Food/drink & for smokers..cigarettes. The Clubhouse sells good low priced Bar snacks & meals, also cheap Lager at £1.70 a pint. The Club house is split into 2, for members & non members. It has a superb drainage system, which keeps the Course playable most of the winter. A Club Proffesional can help you with your game, or give beginners lessons. There is no Golf Range, but theres a Practice Putting green & Chipping area. If you visit this course, there is ample Parking, but I recommend that you book for weekends. Watch out for the 16th hole, Par 5..the most difficult, you Tee off on a narrow farway, out of bounds to the left & heavy woodland to the right, your shot must be straight as the farway slopes from right to left... Say no more! Go there! You`ll love it!
