~ ~ Two weeks ago (July 2004) the Irish P.G.A. and the competition sponsors, Nissan Ireland, held the 2004 Irish Open Golf Championship at a links golf course for the 3rd year in succession. This year, in their wisdom, they selected Baltray Golf Club in Co. Louth. Baltray is, in my opinion, the finest links golf course in Ireland either north or south of the border.
