A challenging course with a real links feel at times and best played off the Championship Blue Tees. A friendly club where all are welcome and equal status prevails. HOWEVER - Membership and Green fees are currently a little expensive for what you actually get. 1. The course needs a little bit more TLC 2. Planned / promised facilities like Buggies and landscaping remain absent. 3. As there is no "zero" rating for this particular venue I am obliged to award it one star, something it does not merit. A former member of this once proud club, it gives me no pleasure in writing this scathing but frank appraisal. The committee consists of people who are only concerned with their own self-interests and not the club. The new policy of allowing the jetsam, flotsam and basically any old riff raff from the city suburbs in pursuit of financial rewards has resulted in an alarming decline in the standard of the course. Cookridge Hall Golf Course is situated on the edge of Leeds, as you leave the city and head towards Harrogate. The course is very picturesque, with lakes amid the fairways, plenty of wooded areas both established and young stands of trees and farmland surrounding the course. The first eight holes are fairly flat but on the back nine there are some steepish climbs. The course layout is very good, slightly on the difficult side for a 20 handicapper like myself, I would only really recommend this course if you are around single figures as some of the rough is very tricky.
