Advantages: lots of speare tickets to go and watch your team play at Fulham

Disadvantages: Ground and fans are a disgrace that should be kept form the premiership.

As a result of an Egyptian grociers money, it looks like Fulham are going to be playing Premier league football next year. However, their ground is far from ready for that level of competition. Admittedly, the Premiership does lack truly world class stdiums. Only Old Trafford and part of St. James' can compete, and even those are minute in comaprison with stadiums in Italy, Germany and Spain. And their are some equally appualing stadiums such as The Dell. However, if promoted, Fulham's Craven Cottage will comprehensively be the worst staium in the league. Most of the stadium is extremely dates, it still has terraces, and the capacity is small.

However, it is the Fulham fans that need to show an improvement. Despite the league position of their team, and the attdactive football that they play, Fulham rarely play to full attendances. It must be stagerring how much money Fulham would lose if they were run like a proper football club. Worst of all is the atmosphere. I can only go on what friends who have been there when thair clubs have played Fulham have said, but the unaminous verdict is that Fulham have the least vocal fans in the league. Having wacthed the game agaisnt Blackburn on the tv today, i see what they mean. Most of the game was played in complete silence, and the only chants seemed to be from about 8 people in total. Although the atmosphere at all premiership grounds has declined, even the cosmopolitan Chelsea fans or the cockney glory hunter red (you know who you are ... learn to sing or give you ticket up to some one who can and stop ruining my team) will break into song at some stage during the game. It seems the entire crowd had fallen asleep, or wanted to keep the noise as low as possible due to being hungover. I suppose the problem is the same at Monaco. Someone can come in and spend loads of money to make the club more successful, but they can't buy proper, loyal, real football fans like those found in Manchest
er, Liverpool and Sunderland. Persoanlly, i hope that Fulham don't go up. It would show that English football isn't about who's Chairman has the most money to por into the club like in Spain or Italy. A clubs success hould be measured on how many fans it can get coming through the turnstiles every week not ho rich/stupid the chairman is. Doubt it will happen mind.
