Advantages: Next to Thames so good for boat race once a year. Hang on, that's bad

Disadvantages: Out of date archaic shell of a ground which shouldn't have survived the Taylor report

My only ever trip to Craven Cottage was to watch the Varsity football match between Oxford and Cambridge universities. This means I can't really say much about the atmosphere, as it was always going to be bad watching a game with a bunch of students. However, this puts me in a position to comment objectively on the ground, which is dreadful. There is no way that Craven Cottage is up to the standards we should be expecting of Premiership clubs. It may be alright for a poorly supported club in the Nationwide league, but wait until a crucial Premiership tie against a big club, especially another London club, is played there.

Fulham's problem stems, rather obviously, from the fact that their recent rise has been meteoric. A decaying "old school" ground was fine for a second division team, but now they are challenging for the top flight, and will win promotion, they're going to have to do some speedy rebuliding in the close season. The stands and facilities just will not be good enough next year.

Personally, i like it! No problem accomodating Man Utd Game (or any other sell out) either, but in compliance with taylor report you mention, we have one more year with terraces (which I will enjoy & make the most of) before we re-build (Providing no public enquiry after planning approval given this week) the new 30,000 stadium, which looks impressive. If varsity match is still allowed to be played there, then I hope you come back and re-write that opinion!
