Staying in a private apartment (very well kept, and serviced) we dived with Bruce Bowker’s Carib Inn, a small, friendly outfit just outside the main town. There we found an easily accessed house reef, which although 100m from shore, was easy to get to, and largely sheltered from current. Bonaire is a part of the Dutch Caribbean, one of the ABC islands in the southern part of the region. Not the most obvious choice of destination for a British diver – less face it, there are many easier to get to locations to dive in – but it is certainly worth the trip for an intensive diving trip if that is what you are after. Getting there is not too tricky, either. Flying KLM, and after a quick change in Amsterdam, before you know it you are on a direct flight to this small island.
