Edgeley Park (Stockport County FC)

Edgeley Park is the home of Stockport County Football Club and Sale Sharks Rugby Union Club and as a Stockport County supporter, that is the point of view I will naturally take on this review. It is placed in an ideal location as a pedestrian as Stockport train station is a short walk away and regular buses run close to the ground as well. This makes it easy for visiting supporters travelling by train in particular, especially compared to many other clubs who have new stadiums practically in the middle of nowhere! Edgeley Park is home to both Stockport County football club, and the Sale Sharks rugby union team, hosting matches from August through until May every year. Because of the dual tenancy (inceasingly common as teams look to share costs), the Edgeley Park playing surface often resembles something closer to a mudbath in the winter months, and the quality of football and rugby on offer inevitably suffers as a result. When I die this is where my ashes are going, not in some urn which the England Cricket team now has possession of. This ground is like a packet of KP's, you open it up and you will find a bunch of nuts. Things have not been good in any respect for a while, but things are improving believe it or not. Only problem we have is that we don't own Edgeley Park, Sale Sharks do. And althought im happy that they have been very successful I do wish that it was ours.
