Newest Review: ... not always the case for away fans to be treated with the same respect as home fans by the police. But they had a brilliant system, and my uncle who supports Blackburn said it means they very rarely have any trouble. The police completely segregate the home roads and away area and if you are a Blackburn fan needing to walk through the away area, you would need a very good reason. There was a massive pub outside the away end which was packed to the rafters. Once inside the ground you could tell it wasn't the best the of grounds but it does the job. Upon approaching Ewood Park you really do get a sense of how friendly the community is. Plenty of people using the football as an excuse to spend time with their families, or the other way round in a lot of cases! I was very impressed with the crowd control at Ewood Park. I'm an away fan and it is not always the case for away fans to be treated with the same respect as home fans by the police. If you support a football team then I'm sure that you may have been to see them at home or away in some point in time. Even if you haven't I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't know what the stadium of your team was called. I support Blackburn Rovers and I've been to about 4 or 5 games in total. It isn't much but then I don't live anywhere near Blackburn! I've seen them draw in 1996 against Arsenal at home in a 1-1 upbeat match. I've seen them play Southampton and win 2-1 in 1996 (the next season though), and I also witnessed an abysmal 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Leicester city in 1997.
