Advantages: Very tidy little ground, excellent

Disadvantages: Very high up, cold and liable to postponements

Motherwell's Fir Park was the first Scottish ground I ever visited, and it has become quite a tidy ground. It has a small capacity (less than 15,000) and is rarely filled, even for visits from Rangers and Celtic.

The ground does have a boxy appearance from the outside, but consider the finances available to Motherwell and you will see they have done a very good job in redeveloping their ground. The Davie Cooper Stand, where I normally sit when visiting the ground has excellent facilities. The concourses are wide, congestion isn't a problem, and I've never had to queue for too long for refreshments.

One thing you don't think about when you are in the ground is quite how high up it is. When you drive past on the M74 you get a far better idea of this, and you begin to realise why the ground feels quite as cold as it does. This makes the ground liable to postponements, and not just from the cold. Any period of hard rain nearly always seems to result in a game being called off too.

Still, far better than it actually looks. Not too far away from the M74 or Airbles railway station, so it is very easy to get to as well.
