Advantages: A great new stadium with good views and facilities

Disadvantages: In a busy area with little parking

I am not a Southampton fan but i have been to the St Marys stadium a few times now as an away fan to watch them play Ipswich. The stadium is in a bowl design with all the corners field in with seats and and the stands of an all equal height and the ground is all enclosed in with two great looking screens at each end and holds over 32,500 people. The ground is a new ish ground only been open in 2001 after they moved from their old ground The Dell.
As an away fan to this stadium its good, you get a good view from behind the goal and when its full (Not like this season) it creates a good atmosphere. The facilities are of a high standard with big toilets and a good sized standing area to get refreshments.
The downside to this stadium is that it is right in the middle of the city which makes the traffic a nightmare and parking near on impossible. We have since found a little car park opposite the stadium down a housing estate run by one old man which is handy for the ground but to get out of it isnt to easy.

Summary: A good stadium which when full makes for a good atmosphere
