This is a bit Local-Orientated but worth bigging up in case anyone's planning a trip to the famous nearby Clarkes Village - come to the best swimming pool on the planet! Make a real day out of it! Greenbank Pool is a local gem in the village of Street in Somerset - a real old-fashioned Lido in the classic 30's style. It was donated to the village by a member of the Clarke family - so if you shop at Clarkes Village in the morning, it's only right and fitting you make it your afternoon activity (and you may remove some of those takeaway doughnut calories too). There's a big main pool attached to a smaller, fun kids' pool, with a slide, it's outdoor but ALWAYS WARM!! (tip: shower first!) Go on a rainy or cool day - there'll be no-one there and you might have the heated luxury to yourself, if you're really lucky. The only setback is it's summer only, running from May to late September, so it'll have to be next year now! It's not toooo expensive, (around £4 for adults last time I went) and there's free parking for 2 hours - you get a ticket that's refunded when you go to the pool. There's a proper (really) deep end that you can dive into, and plenty of room to do proper lengths. They've recently revamped the changing facilities too - well worth it, and you can stay all day if you want! Support our local independant pools, I say - use 'em or lose 'em.

Summary: Local Lido Pools - USE 'EM OR LOSE 'EM! And this is one of the best!
