I have only been to Hampden once and to be fair it was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at any stadium. It was simply mint. As an England fan I may not go up there again in my life time but nothing will ever beat I would suggest this experience. It was Scotland V England in the Play offs for the 2000 European championships. I had been given a ticket by my brother because he had been called in to work the day before. I was buzzing. We set out 5 in the morning with my brothers mate. We were drove upto Ibrox and got a bus from Ibrox to the ground. As we approached I have never scene so much hatred at football game. Hampden Park is Scotland's home of its national football side (whilst also being the home of Queens Park Football Club). The stadium is a large oval shape with a 52000 all seater capacity. The stadium was refurbished in 1993 and opened its doors again in 1999 when in May it hosted the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers (a game in which Rangers came out as 3-1 victors). Situated in Glasgow Hampen stadium is the home of Scottish Football, and the national team. Queens Park also use this stadium as well as music events and other sporting events are also held here. Built in 1903 it has now celebrated over 100 years. 2014 will be Glasgows commonwealth games and Hampen will be the main stadium used, mainly for athletics events.
