Pride of Scotland (Hampden Stadium (Scotland))

Advantages: Stunning design, amazing atmosphere, great location, large capacity Disadvantages: Loud speaker in some peoples opinions but for me it makes for an amazing atmosphere Hampden Park is Scotland's home of its national football side (whilst also being the home of Queens Park Football Club). The stadium is a large oval shape with a 52000 all seater capacity. The stadium was refurbished in 1993 and opened its doors again in 1999 when in May it hosted the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers (a game in which Rangers came out as 3-1 victors). The stadium has become a huge success story with the singing of the Scotland faithful ringing around the roof and creating an amazing atmosphere aswell as having hosted major music events and even a huge boxing spectacle when American boxer Mike Tyson knocked out Lou Savarese in just 38 seconds in July 2000. The national stadium has saltire (Scotland's national flag) at either end and is a truly stunning stadium (from outside, above or in one of the many great seats on offer). If you ever visit this great football ground then be aware that the loud speaker is a truly loud speaker. Summary: A truly brilliant stadium and a great national treasure |
