For anyone who is not aware Dog racing is a sport run by greyhounds. The dogs chase a mechanical hare around a track. The hare is released first and the dogs start from traps when it passes the starting trap. A gate is automatically triggerred to release the dogs and they being racing. The idea is not to catch the hare as that is a lure so they chase something but the winner is determined at the winning post in the same way as horse racing after a pre-determind number of laps.
