Hawthorns, the (West Bromwich Albion FC)Newest Review: ... cost £23 for adults, and they had a promotion on where it was a quid for a kid. Cannot grumble at the prices, its around the bog standard average for an adults ticket in the Championship this season. The ground itself The ground itself is what I would call a traditional football grond with 4 separate stands rather than an enclosed bowl. The away fans are housed in the Smethwick Stand. The Hawthorns is home of West Bromwich Albion FC, it is an all seater stadium with a capacity of 26,500. I visted in September 2009 and my review is mainly based around the Smethwick Stand where the away fans are housed. Getting there Getting there couldn't be easier, the ground is less than a mile away from Junction 1 of the M5. Parking There were several car parks along the A41 as you left the motorway, and they were all charging around £5 for parking. We parked in the closest one to the motorway to avoid getting stuck in the traffic and it was no more than a 5 minute walk from the ground. Their was an official car park at the stadium, ... Its a good all round place to go see a good game of football. an ideal gound to take the family as the parking facilities nearby are not half as bad as many of the football grounds i have been to. If you want to take young children then i would reccomend this above its rival clubs as there seems to be a much freindlier atmosphere. The players always seem to appreciate the crowd and every time i have visited the hawthorns there has been a sizeable away crowd which just tells you one thing. Everyone enjoys this ground. even the away supporters. I support m'boro and in recent years when i have been there they have always sold there allocated tickets which speaks volumes for ... I paid my first visit to the Hawthorns last season, and must say that I enjoyed the experience. It is easy to find, and not desperately difficult to park near if you come by car, but don't want to pay for the privilege of leaving your vehicle right next door to the ground in one of the matchday car parks. Having been to Villa, Wolves and Birmingham over the years, I found the fans to be considerably friendlier than their neighbours, although maybe this was partly because on this occasion I was a neutral rather than an away supporter. However there was very little hostility aimed at the sizeable travelling support from Peterborough, so I don't think that this is an ... Read the complete review

The Hawthorns is a very good football stadium for a number of reasons. Firstly, for people who love their football history and statistics, it is the home of one of the Football League's founding members and is also the highest ground above sea level, so there is plenty of interesting stories and things to look out for at the ground. The ground is also very easily accessable, as it is just off the M5 motorway. Also, being in the Midlands, it is not too far from any other grounds in the country so it is an easy trip for away fans. The ground also has its own tram and railway station so it is very easy to get to for more local supporters. The ground ... Read the complete review
