I have just got home from a trip up to scotland diving , we dived meny wrecks but the best buy far had to be HMS Port Napier,(1940-1941 ) She is a old minelayer, which lies off the coast of Skye, this wreck caters for all divers , its shallow enough for beginners , she can be penetrated by more experienced divers and theres superb marine life that will blow your minds away. She lies in loch alsh, close to shore in an area known as loch na beiste where skye almost touches the mainland. shes at nearly 150m long, the port napier is a large wreck which demands several dives. with a max depth of only 25meters (depending on the tide) and huge mine doors , the structure is easy to penetrate. you can also see her 4inch guns still pointing up , the viz is really good and this wreck is a must for all types of divers...
