Huish Park (Yeovil Town FC) ... Yeovil, having replaced the old Huish ground in 1990. The old ground had a side-to-side slope (similar to Underhill) and is now a Tesco supermarket, which leads to the usual pre-match jokes about trollies rolling down it.

Newest Review: ... there isn't much to do in the vacinity. There is a small Asda just down the road, but the pubs are a good 10-15 minute walk away, so I wouldn't recommend going early! The grounds capacity is 9,665 of which 5,212 is seated. The seated stands run along the length of the pitch and are very similar in their design. They are quite shallow stands which are fully undercover, the stands also have ... more

Huish Park is the home of Yeovil Town, a football club playing in Coca Cola League One. Yeovil moved into the ground in 1990 and despite being almost 20 years old, it is still in very good condition and quite a modern ground considering Yeovils humble beginnings (it is not that long ago they were playing their trade in non league). The ground is pretty easy to get to, from the M5 you travel on 2 roads (A303 and A3088) and the ground is well signposted which is rare for a smaller team. Parking at the ground costs around £2. Getting away from the ground afterwards can be quite difficult as everyone is going in the same direction towards 1 roundabout. ...  Read the complete review

My fairly regular trips to Huish Park, home of Yeovil Town Football Club, have been often memorable for one reason or another. My team, Doncaster Rovers, have come through the divisions at almost the same time as Yeovil so Huish Park is a ground I visited maybe 5 or 6 seasons in a row, despite the 500+ mile round trip. It has always been a pleasant place to visit and the locals make the atmosphere both loud and friendly. One puzzling thing for me though, as an away fan, is that for a stadium of this kind to have been drastically rebuilt in 1990, it is strange that away supporters should need to not only stand but also stand exposed to the elements. Surely even ...  Read the complete review

I never went to the Huish, Yeovil's old ground. I have seen the pictures, and looks like a fine old non-league ground. But they tore it down and now we have a rather more up to date construction. As an away supporter my view will be different to a Yeovil regular, but will be more useful to your average away fan. As far as non-league grounds go, this one is out of the top drawer. I considered it to be the best one I had visited, until R&D came along, but they are definitely a one off. It is situated at the end of a commercial estate, so you can drop the wife off for an hour or two to do some shopping while you watch the game. From a distance ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Huish Park (Yeovil Town FC): A Gem On The Outskirts Of Yeovil (143 words)

I didn't really know what kind of ground to expect when I set off there on an early tuesday afternoon to watch my team, Cardiff City play Yeovil Town in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. I had been to one or two non-league grounds before and to be honest they weren't up to much. Huish Park however is a completely different. I was pleasantly surprised and in fact it was a better ground than many league grounds that I have been to. With a superb grandstand and a nice stand on the opposite side. In fact with a bit of work on the ends, i.e. cover, seat it would turn into a ground that wouldn't look out of place in the 2nd Division. Keep up the good work and you'll ...  Read the complete review
