Advantages: good day out, reasonable price.

Disadvantages: over confident skiers wiping you out.

Well what have you been doing today? Sundays are suppost to be a day of rest but not for me I hate them, they really bore me. So today I was at a loose end desperately need something to do I jumped in the car and two hours later I arrived at Kendal dry ski slope.

GETTING THERE

Kendal's artificial ski slope is located at Canal Head North, Kendal, Cumbria, LA97BY. If travailing by car you need to exit the motor way at junction 36 onto the A590, follow signs for Kendal (15-20 minute drive from M6) when you enter Kendal you will enter into a one way traffic system and the ski centre is well sign posted. So you can't possibly miss it.

THE SLOPE ITSELF

The slope has an area of 80 metres long and 35 metres wide. As well as two distinct flat skiable areas of slope these sections are aimed at the skiers.

It also has a quarter pipe and two kickers and three rows of moguls, these are aimed at the snowboarders.
Uplift is obtained by two 'Briton Button' tows and a rope tow.

PAYING

To pay you need to go to the lodge, this is the place where you check in pay your money and also collect your equipment. Inside the lodge there are toilet facilities, changing facilities, baby changing facilities and machines dispensing hot and cold drinks.

PRO'S AND CON'S

I really enjoyed my day out, but I think I will feel it tomorrow and I am sure I will have a blue bum (I fell over at least 8 times, I stopped counting after that).

The down side was they only have vending machines and no shop or bar, I feel this place will have a roaring trade if they had either of these.

The staff is very young but they seemed to know how it was done so I couldn't complain. Although I feel there were not enough staff compared to the amount of people skiing.

I didn't like the fact that the slope was open to everyone, you had the show boaters who thought they were great whizzing past at excessive speeds, so once you got going you were wiped out plus little children were getting knocked down by these what I call professionals, I feel it would have been a bit better if it was sectioned off a bit better so skiers could ski with people at the same stage.

Summary: overall fun day, full of giggles and crys (when you fall over)

You would have thought that with all the hills around Kendall they could have built a slope longer than 80 metres!
