Advantages: Lots to do there

Disadvantages: Nothing

I have started to really use our local sports centre for a lot of things, including things for myself and for my children. It is not as expensive as you might think if you choose the right things to do.

The Kings Centre (now renamed Olympos) in East Grinstead is about 10 minutes walk from where I live and it is host to not only sport related activities, but also the pre-school that my daughter attends and where I work two mornings a week. As well as a holiday club that they operate through every school holiday at a price of around £15.00 per day per child. This is from 9.45 to 4.00pm and is perfect for me on the odd days I have to work through the holidays.

They have a large sport hall where they hold badminton and other racket sports except squash as they have three squash courts for this. In the main hall they also run all kinds of activities like gymnastics and roller skating as well as fitness classes and preschool stay and play sessions with bouncy castles etc.

There is also a dance studio upstairs which is fairly small but good enough for a kids dance session and other fitness classes that require a mirrored wall. They also run a lot of other classes for varying age groups and really do try to cater for everyone.

The pool is pretty good in size and they also have a training pool which is located next to the main pool. They run swimming lessons in both pools depending on abilities and these are always booked out so you have to get in quickly. The instructors are very good though and both my younger children are enrolled in classes for a year now.

I swim in the main pool a lot as well and there are certain memberships that you can buy that mean it works out cheaper to swim or use the gym if you are there regularly. I haven't done this yet but both my younger children have kids memberships which cost £7 each per month but they can swim as much they want and have access to various classes in the centre as well as free access to Play world which is a soft play house on site and they then get 10% discount on every else as well. So for them it is very worth it as they swim a lot and use the play world centre as well as some of the classes.

Overall I love this centre and feel I am there rather a lot but the facilities it offers and the prices are reasonable so it makes it worthwhile.

Summary: RECOMMENDED xx
