The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff is the home of English football for the next few years and I for one can't think of a better place!!!

I travelled there yesterday for the Worthington Cup Final between Liverpool & Birmingham and I was very impressed by what I saw.

Whereas Wembley was more 'reclined' in the angle of the stands, the Millennium Stadiums stands are more vertical which makes it look much more impressive and also gets the spectator nearer to the pitch. The drawback with Wembley was that you seemed to be about 100 yards from the turf, thus players appeared as dots on the horizon!

The Millennium Stadium has been designed so there is not a bad seat in the house - everywhere has a brilliant view of the pitch which is half the battle won in terms of seating arrangements. This coupled with the giant screens at either end of the pitch giving you real-time pictures of the occassion makes for a wonderful viewing sensation!!

Getting to it was very easy as well. It was well signposted giving clear directions which is exactly what you need when you're going there for the first time. I was also very surpised about its location in Cardiff. Built on the old Cardiff Arms park site, it really is in the heart of Cardiff and not placed in some godforsaken industrial area in the middle of nowhere!

Overall, a wonderful stadium fully equipped to cope with modern sporting events. One drawback was that they ran out of hot food at half time - a bit more planning on the catering front would please a good few people!!
