Disadvantages: Location (Wales) for English supporters
As an avid Arsenal fan, I visited this stadium earlier in the year for the FA Cup Final. I have had the pleasure (or not) of visiting numerous stadia both domestically and in Europe over the past 10 years or so as an Arsenal fan and I can say that this was by far the best venue. The game was a sell out and the way the fans were handled upon entering Cardiff (excellently signposted) was first class. The local police (and others who had obviously been drafted in) were helpful and knew their stuff. One member of our party was on crutches and one policeman took it upon himself to find a taxi able to carry 5 of us back to our hotel some 15 miles away. As we neared the stadium, the sight of it was quite impressive. It sits right on the water and on a hot summer's day the setting is magnificent. The journey into the stadium was easy and trouble free and we were easily able to locate our seats (with an excellent view and legroom), far easier than at previous trips to Wembley. The pitch has been subject to some criticism but I thought it looked fine, much better than that at Old Trafford the previous month! The food wasn't too expensive and the quality was good, the view was first class and the atmosphere electric. Let's hope the Wembley redevelopment is as good as this stadium!
