Great stadium, so why shouldn't the FA cup be played here (Millennium Stadium (Cardiff))

Advantages: Britain's newest and soon to be biggest football stadium Disadvantages: some suggest that the FA cup should be kept in England
Until Wembley is rebuilt, the Millennium Stadium reigns as Britain's premier stadium. With a capacity of 72,000 and a retractable roof, only Old Trafford comes close to matching it. However, many suggest that the FA cup final should not be taken out of England. Out of the possible alternatives, Twickenham won't allow football to be played there, Old Trafford currently only holds 67,500 and would give an advantage to United if they were contesting the final, and St James' Park only holds 52,000. Holding the final in the Millennium Stadium would allow the maximum number of fans to attend, and would be a neutral venue. Summary: |
