As an away supporter my view may be different to a Diamonds regular, but will be more useful to your average away fan. Rushden And Diamonds play at Nene Park, Irthlingborough, near Northampton They are very well documented, so I will confine my comments to the ground. It is by far the best non league ground you will ever visit. It's very easy to find, just off the A6, although it's not actually in Rushden, as I found to my cost when I first visited the place. Built next door to the Doc Martens factory, it is an impressive site. There is plenty of purpose provided car parking, although the single entrance to the car park ensures a long wait after the game if you wait for the final whistle. I assume this is the case, in recent years our performances there have prompted me to leave early! At the moment visiting fans have no choice but to sit in the recently covered stand behind the goal. The view is excellent however. The price is subject to change but is higher than average for the Conference. Stewards are present in large numbers and competent I suppose, although last time around they were slow to spot a 'situation' developing. There are excellent facilites at Nene Park. The clubhouse is superb, and you have your own refreshments (which are ok) and bar (which is better)in your section beneath your part of the stand. Which also features a telly to check on the half times. You can also splash out on an executive box with all the trimmings if you desire. When you visit this place, and remember that this is a non league ground, I defy your jaw not to hit the ground. Well worth a visit, but hurry, it won't be a non league ground for much longer. Unless they keep Talbot as manager of course.

- 24/05/02 Well a great opinion of a great stadium. But as a Boston fan, i have to say bad luck on getting relegated, but i'm sure you'll be back next year. We will be challenging for promotion to division 2 as we are quetly confident in division 3 |
