Advantages: A big nice stadium

Disadvantages: No longer the togertherness of the fans

Welcome to my second home :) Portman Road these days is an impressive Championship football stadium with a capacity of over 30,000 which makes it the largest capacity ground in East Anglia. It has two big new stands behind the goals, The North and the Greene King, and a big three tiered but older stand called the Brittania and an old slightly tired stand on the other side called the Cobold stand. How ever impressive this ground is i feel it has lost its feel of how i used to love Portman Road. I loved the days when i was about 13 of a capacity of 22,000 all the fans together as one. The North Stand where the noise all starts all huddled up together all signing and shouting all game. Ipswich was known as a little club punching above its weight with a great fan base. We got promoted finished 5th in the Premiership and thought that was it. We were big time! Impressive 2 tiered stands where built either side behind the goals and i feel it lost its passion and noise. The feel of the togerness had gone, in the north stand came lots of families for the good view rather than to start and join in with a sing song. This stadium is of an impressive stature but the support these days is some what muted and sometimes no existent
