One of London's Royal Parks, Richmond Park is situated on the outskirts of central London, in zone 4. It is easily accessible by the London Underground, via the district line, and then a short walk is needed. It is probably worth noting that the walk is predominantly uphill, so may not be suitable for certain people. A map could be obtained before your trip on the internet, or upon arrival in the town centre at Tourist Information.

I personally enjoy Richmond Park a great deal out of all of the London Parks. Not only is it situated in a town which is quite different to others in London, the walk up to it has breathtaking views which is a great excuse to stop and have a break on the uphill journey.

The park itself is beautiful, with a large mass of greenery, woodlands and nature. I find it a raw park, with a vibe of wildness. Whilst most other parks are perfectly groomed and immaculate, it is often the case that they tend to be pretty similar.
However this is different for Richmond Park, which whilst it is well kept, has a totally different atmosphere. I enjoy going there with friends for picnics, where you can find a secluded spot and have a great day out. You can be sat in a spot where you will not see another person for the duration of your stay. This is a great bonus, as most other parks in London tend to be overcrowded and lack privacy. I enjoy taking numerous photographs here as there is so much inspiration. You have the park, the woodlands, the animals, all in one spot so you really do have it all to choose from.

One of the unique things about the park, is the free roaming deer. They literally do roam free and just wander about as they please. You can even get up pretty close to them in order to take photographs, I got merely a few feet away and got some great snaps.

I thoroughly recommend a visit to this park, don't forget the camera!

Summary: Take a look! Its a breath of fresh air!
