Martin Padi Open Water Diver: ... recently completed an Open Water Course with Maidstone Scuba and found them to be brilliant! I did call a few of the others locally, including Blue Ocean, but overall found Maidstone Scuba were the best price. Others including Blue Ocean DO add extra bits on like another £150 or so for mask and fins making the course VERY much more expensive! Maidstone Scuba DO HAVE a classroom at Maidstone Leisure Centre (a...

isambard16 PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver
... your anything like me, i had trouble with my buoyancy from the start. I would be up one minute and down the next- all over the place. So i decided to take a speciality module with my local PADI instructor (for your local PADI go to their website and look up your area). My instructor took me through doing a buoyancy check in water so that i could determine how much weight i would need when diving. We also went through the technique of using your lungs to rise and fall- when you breath out you would slightly sink, and breathing in you would slightly rise. This technique took me a while to master but is fantastic when diving now. We went over streamlining technique- swimm...

divegal Diving in UK in general
... in the Uk Ok so you have been on holiday somewhere nice and warm and maybe did a PADI open water or advanced course and now you are back at home thinking Can I dive in the UK? . Do I want to dive in the UK? Is there anything to actually see? The answer is a great big YES!!!! I have been diving for a good few years now both in the UK and in much warmer places. I would be silly if I said that I enjoyed diving in colder UK waters to say diving in Egypt but it can be just as exciting and its just a different kind of diving!!! Diving in the UK requires different kit though. I would never entertain diving here without a dry suit but some of the more hardy types wear...

isambard16 Diving in Australia in general
... decided to make a last minute trip to Australia. I was staying in Sydney and didn`t have a chance to get upto the barrier reef. Instead i did a couple of shove dives with 5* PADI Manly Dive Centre in Manly, Sydney. In terms of sealife, i saw cuttlefish, globe fish, eastern blue groupers, and long fin banner fish. Apparently there had been sightings of port jackson sharks but we didn`t see any on our trip. We dived to the maximum 14 metres and for my first shove dive i thoroughly enjoyed it. We dived in late May and although the surface temperature was hot, the water underneath was pleasantly cool. I used a 5mm full length wetsuit and this was comfortable enough. Visib...
