Advantages: Sports Complex, QFM Stand, PDE Stand

Disadvantages: Poles

Love Street in Paisley is home of the mighty St. Mirren, the Buddies. The capacity of
the stadium is just over 10,000 and is fully up to SPL standards, unlike the tip which
is Brockville.
There are four covered stands, two of which are relatively new. The Caledonia Stand,
soon to be renamed the QFM stand, houses an impressive sports complex meaning the
ground can be generating some income 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, instead of
every second Saturday during the season. It is also where the away fans sit. This stand
was opened in late 1994, but is not the newest of the stands.
That honour falls to the Paisley Daily Express Stand, so called because of the local
newspaper who sponsor it. This stand was opened in April 2000 and was the final part
of the ground which was needed to allow entry to the SPL. These two stands have no
poles which obstruct viewing.
However, both the Main Stand and the North Bank have poles which are very
annoying. The North Bank is where most of the St. Mirren faithful sit, even if they
can’t see whats going on at times. The Main Stand houses the corporate hospitality
seats, and also has the dugouts and the tunnel where the players emerge from.
Underneath this is the changing rooms, club office, board room and anything else that
can help out with the successful running of a football club. There used to be a top
quality restaurant as well but it is sadly no more.
This stadium is well worth a visit, and if you’re team is playing here you get to sit in
the QFM stand, which offers a superb view.
