Having been a season ticket holder since the Sunderland Stadium of Light opened I feel that I have the right to write an opinion about the place. I have not been to every ground in the country but I know people who have and they believe I am right in saying that the Stadium of Light is the best ground in the country. Since the addition of 6,000 more seats on the newly named Carling Stand the atmosphere in the place has became unbelievable. The layout of the stadium is traditional enough but the way the noise of the crowd echos around inside it is amazing. Underneath the stands the toilets and shops are unbeatable, even though the prices are a bit steep. Every seat has a perfect view of the pitch and there is plenty of space for disabled supporters. The thing that makes the place so special is the Sunderland crowd. Us Mackems are very proud of our reputation of being loud and we do everything we can to make sure we keep that reputation. Unless you are from Newcastle or 'Boro you are garanteed a warm welcome outside the ground(once inside we take no prisoners with our songs.) Summary: |
