Advantages: Cheerleaders, Big Stadium, Museum
Disadvantages: No chips, Loud Sound System
Recently I went on a tour of the Amsterdam Arena, and was amazed how big the stadium was. However one of the safety rules was quite funny. They don't sell chips, or french fries. These are seen as being flammible and could be used as a projectile, alight or otherwise. However, it seems hamburgers and pizzas are ok and are sold in the arena! Whilst we were there the stadium was very impressive, especially as the Amsterdam Admirals cheerleaders were practising at the time..... The stadium is of course home to Ajax, one of the biggest football teams in Europe. There is a museum dedicated to the club there, which includes replicas of all the trophies the club has won. It really is amazing to see how many meaningful trophies the club have won. However, Ajax don't own the stadium, it is owned by a company called Amsterdam Arena. Ajax just rent the stadium, so now you know. Oh yeah, the sound system is very loud when the stadium is empty!
