value for money (Sunbury American Golf)
Member Name: yorkie
Advantages: reasonable round/reasonable price Disadvantages: room for improvement
American Golf at Sunbury is a rather elaborate title for a new course which is slowly shedding its building-site appearance. Both the 18 and 9 hole courses offer generous fairways and well-kept greens for the average golfer. Trees are scarce, but a pleasant water feature and some well-placed bunkers provide a sterner test. The open plan invites low punchy shots to avoid the wind and drainage can also be a hazard in wetter times. A reasonable driving range and putting green allow for pre-round practice and the clubhouse offers standard post-match fare. Not the greatest course you'll ever play, but at £12-18 for 18 holes, certainly value for money. Summary: |
